PEBBLE - PUBLIC REST AREA
This "Pebble" is a public rest area, to be used for examples during temporary manifestation such as concerts, sports or social events, or less temporary uses such as public parks and places. I created this project in the context of my work for the Inartis Fondation (Renens - Swiss).

"Solar Pebble" variant

"Wooden Pebble" variant

The main area is composed of a food court (food and beverage machines) and an open space that can be furnished according to the needs. The pavilion also contains 3 restrooms (men, women, handicapped), a technical room, and a polyvalent room.
The Pebble is designed to be pre-built, and then have the prefab parts transported and assembled on site. All parts are dimensioned to fit inside standard-sized containers and trucks.

All "ribs" are identical, with only the length of their top part having to be adjusted. The egg shape is obtained by rotating the ribs along 3 different circles: 1/2 circle at the base of the egg, 1/8 circle on the sides, and 1/4 circle at the tip.
This conception allows for standardization of parts: all in-between ribs parts (glass, roof panels, sun protection, ...) are either the same or have only 3 variants, with very little custom parts.
